Congratulations to Scott Ramey
Congratulations Scott Ramey on taking first place in the Age Achievement and Length of Study Type solo Divisions at the 2011 American Guild of Music Competition. Scott performed the Bourree from Cello Suite #3 by J.S. Bach adapted for Solo Bass Guitar.
Scott Ramey, 16 Years Old
Scott Ramey is 16 years old and has played the Bass guitar since the 7th grade (2006). He plays in the Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and the Marching Band at Lake Shore High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. In the Jazz Ensemble he plays the Bass, in Wind Ensemble he plays percussion, and in Marching band he plays Quint Tenor drums in the Drumline. He has played the Bass in the pit band for the Lake Shore Choir’s performances of South Pacific, High School Musical and Beauty and the Beast. He was invited to perform at the Detroit International Jazz Festival in Detroit, Michigan for the past 5 years. He received AAA rating at the American Guild of Music (AGM) Regional Great Lakes Competition in 2008 and 2011 in the Evaluation, 2nd place for Length of Study and Age Achievement in 2008 and 1st place in 2011. He also has his own jazz group called Straight Up Jazz in which he plays Double Bass and Electric Bass and is the Director.
